Trying to forecast sales for 2011 is difficult. There are always caveats, like the weather, natural catastrophes, drought and the economic climate. Speaking with business and industry leaders, as well as landscape contractors, helps us make a somewhat intelligent prediction.
Irrigation & Green Industry magazine projects that sales for the industry in 2011 will be flat to up eight percent. We’re taking into account that the industry shrank in the years 2006 to 2009 by 30 to 60 percent. We feel that the market has bottomed out and that 2011 will be the beginning of the comeback. /
